CRUSA's Activities
Introduction What we do
CRUSA’s main task is to provide support so that the good ideas of many different organizations can be turned into projects that will make significant contributions to Costa Rica’s economic and social development.
Our Foundation has focused mainly on supporting initiatives in the areas of Science and Technology, Environment, Education and Strategic Capacity. Every year, CRUSA defines specific issues and specific funding opportunities within each of these areas.
During its 10 years of work, CRUSA has supported more than 400 projects in its four areas of interest, covering different geographic locations and benefiting different social groups – from small farmers in coastal communities to hundreds of thousands of children and young people who study in primary and secondary schools throughout the country.
For the past decade the Foundation has primarily offered financial support, providing non-reimbursable funding to different initiatives. However, based on a new strategic plan currently under development, CRUSA hopes to diversify the ways in which it can contribute to turning a good idea into a successful project for the benefit and wellbeing of Costa Rica.
